Towering Success
Build a tower exponentially higher. Every time you reach a height goal, your tower becomes a building block, so it pays to think ahead about the scalability of your design.

long and thin strat worked way better than I was expecting
okay, if you play really optimally and minimize your blocks, you can get higher, although I'm again lagging out at 5120m
I'm willing to bet it's possible to go higher without unbearable lag, just really difficult
Is it possible to go beyond 20480m? Probably. I don't know if I'm willing to find out though... at this point, even in fullscreen, I can barely see the stack at all (which is approximately 80 blocks wide at its thinnest). I'm not sure how I even placed the last block correctly to get past 10240m.
In theory, I used twice as many blocks than would be strictly necessary, so maybe the next level is possible. You would have to make a much thinner tower than I did though, which would mean it'd probably be actually invisible at this point, making placing blocks accurately pretty much impossible
What the... Sweet Jesus. That's the highest I've seen so far. I'm deeply impressed by your skill and patience. The lag must've been really bad. I'll see about optimization after the game jam finishes. And maybe a way to zoom in.
Fun game! I really like how you are forced to add copies of your original towers on top of each other, great use of the "scaling" prompt for the gam jam.
There's a bug where the danger/lose zones don't go to the edges of the screen and you can build next to them. Later when I completed the height they expanded and covered my buildings so I lost.
Thanks for letting me know! Others have also reported this. I've quadrupled the size of the failure zones, so this should be fixed :) They should be big enough now, unless somebody reaches even more ridiculous heights. Y'all are getting much higher than I ever did during playtesting!
Nice! Great work, heaps of fun!
Game begins to lag really bad after 160m. Apart from that this game is REALLY FUN.
Thanks! Yeah, exponentially increasing physics objects aren't great for performance... I have some ideas for optimization, though.
Yeah, giant decreases in fps after that point
It was a bit of a pain getting started at first.. but then I realised that you can add new pieces in the gaps of existing towers! Unfortunately I didn't get to finish 320m. lots of fun though!
